Hello Families,
We hope you had a wonderful weekend! If you celebrated Hallowe’en, we hope the festivities were fun and (mostly) dry. As for the Blue Jays… we’ll just leave that one alone—ha ha!
Last Friday, progress reports were sent home, highlighting all the amazing things your child has accomplished. We hope you had a chance to read through the report together and celebrate their growth and successes.
🌟 Reminders & Updates:
- Spelling is back this week - quiz on Friday.
- Breakfast matters! We’ve noticed that a few students are coming to school without having eaten. A healthy breakfast is the most important meal of the day—it fuels our brains and bodies for a great morning of learning and movement. Thank you for your support with this at home!
- Volleyball Intramurals: Grade 5 & 6 volleyball intramurals begin this week! FOR REAL. There's been a lot going on so I've postponed them until this Friday. It’s a fun opportunity for students to learn new skills, build teamwork, and enjoy some friendly competition. Please encourage your child to sign up and give it a try!
Parent-Teacher Interviews on Thursday...
If you have scheduled an interview to discuss your child’s progress—I’m looking forward to connecting with you!
To ensure we can accommodate all families, please note that each meeting is limited to 10 minutes. To make the most of our time together, I kindly ask that you:
- Review your child’s report card in advance
- Come prepared with any specific questions or concerns
The report card provides a detailed overview of your child’s progress, and our conversation will help clarify and support their continued growth.
Thank you again for your time and involvement in your child’s learning journey. If you have any questions before our meeting, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
As always, thank you for your continued support and partnership. We’re looking forward to another great week of growing, learning, and celebrating our classroom community!
Lunches & Technology Safety
Our classroom is full of exciting technology—Ozobots, Dash robots, Makey Makeys, Spheros, iPads, Chromebooks, and more! To help keep all of this equipment safe, I kindly ask that students do not bring carbonated drinks (such as pop or sparkling water) to school.
These beverages can get shaken up in backpacks and may burst open during snack time, which poses a risk to our devices and learning materials.
I’d really appreciate it if these fizzy treats could be enjoyed at home instead. Thank you so much for your support in keeping our learning environment safe, clean, and fun!
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.
Our classroom is a nut-free environment to ensure our students with allergies are safe. Please be mindful of this when you are packing your child's lunch and snacks. The new cookie store and Tim Horton's snacks and hot chocolate aren't peanut free...so please ensure your child enjoys these before getting to school. Thank you...so much...for helping keep all our students safe.
