Week of March 25th, 2024


Holy Week
This week we will focus on the journey Jesus took in the days leading up to his Crucifixion as well as the anticipation we feel as we wait for his resurrection on Easter Sunday.

GRADE 7: Addition and Subtraction of Integers Test - Wednesday March 27th; 

Grade 7 & 8 - Geography Mid-Unit Test - Thursday March 28th


Our classroom is a nut-free environment to ensure our students with allergies are safe. Please be mindful of this when you are packing your child's lunch and snacks.


This Weeks Learning

Numeracy: Grade 7:We will finish up our work on operations with positive and negative integers. I've linked an extra-practise workbook on the right side of the blog. Students are welcome to work on these and check their answers at home. Math help is offered morning and afternoon recess, excluding Tuesday afternoon. Unit Test will be on Wednesday.

Language: We continue our read-aloud novel study of "Thirst". This is an amazing novel that connects to many social justice issue, global equality issues...and is very well written. Students are really enjoying it - and learning about how precious water is to others...

Phys Ed: We continue our unit on Basketball this week...students are reminded they need proper running shoes for gym and they cannot be their outdoor shoes!

S.T.E.M/Coding.: Every other Friday...ask you child to share their experiential learning opportunities! On Monday, we will finish up our STEM challenge on a Pneumatic device...ask your son or daughter to share!

Religion/Family Life: We will continue to focus on Lent and preparing for Easter.

History/Geography/Science: We continue our second unit in Science, Heat and as well as our unit in Geography looking at Global Settlement Patterns and Sustainability. GEOGRAPHY MID-UNIT TEST: THURSDAY MARCH 28TH
